The company's primary mission is to prosper and profit through the purchase and redevelopment of distressed or under-utilized real estate, to repurpose for sale or to be kept as long-term assets. Secondarily, the company provides services that support the primary business, such as property management, that serve the core and can be offered to the broader market in a for-profit structure.

Cava Companies is a real estate-centric company that betters the community through the acquisition and redevelopment of distressed or under-utilized real estate by fixing and selling homes in existing neighborhoods, or by fixing properties and offering them for affordable rentals. In addition, we provide related services, such as property management or recruiting, that support our primary business while benefiting related business and customers. In achieving our mission, we desire to hire and employ tremendous talent that come to build enriching careers while allowing the company to achieve its mission.

Always assist a team member in need

There is no one person who is greater than another in the organization. Every person and every position is important. If you see a team member in need of help, it is your duty to help them.


Never speak down about mission, team, or individual

Your words should serve only to lift-up your teammates and our brand. If a teammate does something to anger you, stop - think about what you’re going to say - and use words that will build into them rather than breaking them down. Plus, there is no down-talking the brand publicly. We have our issues, but we deal with them in-house and portray a unified and strong front to the outside world.

Everyone on the team takes ownership and responsibility

No blaming, finger-pointing, justification or denial. Clear communication is key. Gossip won’t be tolerated. If you have an issue with someone, have an effective conversation with that person. Stick to the facts, rather than the stories in your head of what could have happened.

Always match our actions to our words

We cannot teach others to be great if we're not first striving for greatness in ourselves. Lead by example. Seek no acknowledgment or sympathy, don't give other people your problems. Come to work each day striving to be better than the day before. Play full-out for the team and not your personal glory. This a drama-free zone. When feeling down, rely on your team to pick you up. Persistent negativity is like a virus - and will be dealt with by the team.

Be honest in all transactions and communication & honor assignments

Truth and honesty should be at the forefront of all you do. No deal, advantage or dollar of profit is worth being dishonest. Loosely summarized, legendary investor Warren Buffet said the following: "When contemplating an action, we ask each and every employee to ask yourself if you are willing to have any contemplated act appear the next day on the front page of their local paper, to be read by their spouses, children, and friends, with the reporting done by an informed and critical reporter. If they follow this test, they need not fear my other message to them: Lose money for the firm, and I will be understanding; lose a shred of reputation for the firm, and I will be ruthless." These are words we will live by!

Never settle for Good Enough, instead do whatever it takes

We will never be complacent. We will never settle for average, but we are committed to constant and never-ending personal development.
